This bracelet was forged with a hammer and heat in a process known as fold forming. The copper was hammered, folded and heated to obtain the creased look. The gold/green/red colors on the focal piece were produced by heating it with a torch. The copper has been sealed with wax to reduce tarnish. The copper focal piece measures 2x2 inches.
Sterling silver tube rivets connect the piece to a weighty piece of oxidized sterling silver chainmaille to complete the cuff. Hand cut sterling silver rings were woven in a pattern known as European 4 in 1. The silver has been darkened to compliment the copper. A sterling silver box clasp finishes the bracelet. The bracelet has a nice weighty feel to it but is not overwhelming.
The bracelet is ready to ship in a size 7. This bracelet fits best when worn with just a bit of slack.
This bracelet was featured in a tutorial in the February 2013 issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry.
